Wooly
From the moment Wooly was born it was clear, this little lamb was special!
Story
From the moment Wooly was born it was clear, this little lamb was special! She bundled style and charisma together with her extraordinary looks. Observe her gentle expression, the soft and smooth curves and, most particularly, notice the way her forelock falls down her forehead, like a cloud descending! Which incidentally, brings us to the actual name of our lamb – Wolleke. Translation from the Dutch word, ‘Little Cloud’. Get the drift? For those less familiar with this language, we modified her name to ‘Wooly’.
Well, enough said for a prelude. Now meet Wooly, the little lamb that will warm your hearts and more importantly, that of children. Wooly has style and is unique in its ageless visual portrayal. Vibrant and pure colours are encapsulated in bold, delineative lines to capture the attention of the young.
Can anyone think of a more affectionate, cuddly and warm pet than a lamb?
Test yourself to come up with any other animal epitomising the personification of goodness and innocence. Just consider the wool it produces, a commodity generating warmth and comfort, world-wide! Year after year. Such attributes, unsurpassed value and...such scope for expressing the illusionary. Perfect assets to create our cute and lovable character, Wooly!

Ooly / Olleke (Dutch)Next we want you to meet Wooly’s dark fleeced and closest friend – Ooly. And no, he is not the proverbial black sheep that comes to mind. On the contrary, Ooly is the male equivalent of Wooly. In fact, the only perceptible difference is the dark colour of his wool. Ooly and Wooly are like needles and knitting. We call it...total friendsheep!

KoalaThere are two things Koala is known for. First and foremost, he is quite an introvert character. Second, and due to his shyness, he feels best when being left alone, high up in his favourite eucalyptus tree and sleeping the time away.
Wooly is forever trying to help him to feel more comfortable with life beyond the safety of his tree. It’s difficult to get Koala to open his eyes but don’t be sucked in by this sleepy shyness. Give him a bucketful of gum leaves and he wakes up to display a rare talent for telling tales!
-
Joey / Jowie (Dutch)Joey the joyful. That is the best suited analysis of this high-spirited kangaroo.
His curiosity is always ahead of his fear and his happy disposition often gets him into scrapes. There is nothing he can do about it, his enthusiasm simply wins consistently from his capacity to judge the risk of underlying problems. Wooly and friends are all too familiar with Joey’s bouncy character but slowing him down is quite another thing.
Joey isn’t only out-jumping everyone in speed but, by his very nature, is usually way head by his exuberance! No worries, there’s always someone to help him pick up the pieces.
-
Poodle / Poedel (Dutch)Of all Wooly’s friends, Poodle is by far the most vain. Everywhere inside her home she has mirrors, just to make absolutely certain there are no flaws in her makeup or hairdo when she goes out for her daily walk.
Poodle visits her favourite hairdresser twice a week. Come rain or shine she braves the elements to get her hair done to perfection. To look beautiful is her prime ambition in life. The other is to catch all the gossip and is there a better place than at the hairdressing salon?
Even though Poodle is a bit stuck up, Wooly feels for her insecurity. When Poodle puts her nose in the wind and, as a consequence, trips over a loose stone, Wooly is the first to get her out of her embarrassment, albeit with a subtle but worthy message.
-
Turtle / Schildpad (Dutch)Turtle may be slow in moving but makes up for this handicap in bravery and cleverness. As he is also the oldest of all animals he is equipped with a lifetime of experience. As a real grandpa he helps everyone understand what growing up is all about.
He has sailed the seven seas and delights everyone with his stories of the great and beyond. But to take all of his tales serious is a mistake Wooly found out when Turtle pointed upwards to the clouds. “Look Wooly”, he exclaimed, “there are more of your friends up there than you have curls!” It was the only and last time Wooly fell for one of Turtle’s wisecracks.

Woodpecker, Nightingale and Owl / Specht, Nachtegaal en Uil Consortium (Dutch)This noisy threesome’s habitat is located in the tree of culture, wisdom and skill.
Woodpecker is the skilled master of woodwork. The Nightingale brings culture to the crowd by virtue of his extraordinary singing and the wise, old Owl is always there with his book of wisdom.
Together they are a formidable team of experts, finding clever solutions to whatever problem the animals below are faced with. But, despite all their cleverness and know-how, even they are not perfect, as is well documented in the Wooly stories.
